Arsenal lead race for Benjamin Sesko, need to trigger Re clause


According to recent reports in Germany, Arsenal are leading the race to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko this summer. The Gunners are looking to add a striker to their ranks, with the Slovenian striker attracting attention, but the club must trigger his release clause by the end of June.

Benjamin Sesko played in different Slovenian clubs during his youth. The youngster played in the youth teams of Radece, Rudar Trbovlje, Krsko and Domzale from 2010 to 2019 before eventually moving to Austria to join RB Salzburg’s senior team.

In June 2019, the Slovenian striker signed his first three-year professional contract with RB Salzburg at the age of 16. After making 55 appearances for the Austrian club, he signed for German side RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023 for a reported transfer fee. of around 24 million euros.

Now, according to Metro, Arsenal are interested in signing Benjamin Sesko and are in pole position to sign him in the upcoming summer transfer window. However, the Gunners are expected to trigger the striker’s €65m (£56m) release clause by the end of June, before the clause in his contract expires.

The 21-year-old is also said to be keen on a move to the Emirates. The youngster’s agent was spotted in the stands during Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford a few weeks ago. So, if the player decides to move this summer, North Londoners seem to be the most likely destination.
